An Update on the Substack
Hello everyone,
Several readers have asked about the pause in my market analysis newsletter, so I wanted to explain what's happening and share some thoughts on where things stand.
Mission Accomplished
I started the newsletter to document and sharpen my analytical thinking—and it's accomplished that goal. Writing regularly has forced me to articulate my frameworks more clearly, challenge my assumptions, and develop analytical approaches that feel uniquely mine. I've gained real confidence in my analysis, and the desire to make it perfect has pushed me to dig deeper into topics I might have otherwise glossed over.
There's something powerful about knowing that real people are reading your work and expecting insights—it raises the bar in the best possible way.
The Time Reality
Here's the thing: each post requires 3-5 hours of focused weekend work. That's research, analysis, writing, editing, and the kind of deep thinking that can't be rushed. As readership grew, I considered monetizing—not because keeping it free is a motivation, but because proper monetization would require even more time, consistency, and reliability than I can commit to right now.
I'm currently deep into a personal project that's consuming most of my weekends and will continue through at least this year. Given the significant time investment without financial return, maintaining a regular publishing schedule simply isn't sustainable.
Going Forward
I'm not shutting down entirely. I'll continue writing occasionally when I have something genuinely worthwhile to share—perhaps when I spot an interesting market development or when a particular analytical framework crystallizes in a way that feels worth documenting. But these will be sporadic rather than scheduled.
I'd rather write less frequently and maintain quality than force out posts just to hit a calendar. I want to be upfront about this rather than letting the newsletter slowly fade without explanation.
Once my current project concludes, I plan to reassess the newsletter's direction entirely. Maybe I'll have the bandwidth to commit properly, or maybe this chapter will have served its purpose.
Thank You
To everyone who has read, shared, and engaged: thank you. Your feedback has made me a better thinker, and I'll still be here occasionally.
